International Conference LiLaC (Literature - Language - Computing)

Aim of the conference – to provide an opportunity for scientific dialogue to specialists using computer technologies in the study of the Russian language and Russian literature, as well as in comparative studies based on various languages.
Among the topics to be discussed at the conference are the following:
- computer technologies in philological comparative studies;
- digital technologies in the study of Russian and foreign literature;
- corpora of the Russian language and Russian speech;
- modern approaches to translation from Russian or into Russian;
- new technologies in teaching Russian as a foreign language;
- computational methods in philology.  
The list of possible topics is not limited to those listed. 
Languages of the conference: Russian & English 
Program includes: Presentations (up to 20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion) and flash talks (up to 7 minutes).  
Submission process: Selected revised papers will be published as a peer-reviewed volume. Abstracts should be submitted before May 20, 2022 via conference website – https://regforms.spbu.ru/ru/?option=com_rsform&view=rsform&formId=1690. Authors are invited to submit full papers of 8-14 pages formatted in the Springer LNCS style in PDF (https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines). If you wish to include any specific symbols (such as phonetic transcription), please submit your paper both in DOC and PDF format. Each paper will be reviewed by at least three independent reviewers (double-blind). Papers submitted to LiLaC must not be under review by any other conference or publication, and must not be previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere. Submissions are restricted to at most two per applicant and each applicant may submit only one abstract as a first author. Notification of acceptance follows on July 10, 2022.

XXV Open Conference for Philology Students at St. Petersburg State University

The Philological Faculty of St. Petersburg State University invites you to take part in the XXV Open Conference for Philology Students, which will be held from April 18 to April 23, 2022 in a distant format.

The annual international conference for students of philology at St. Petersburg State University is the largest scientific student forum in the field of linguistics and literary criticism in the North-West of Russia. Over the past 20 years, it became a reputable event, giving the floor to young philologists.
The conference is usually attended by more than 400 students, representing several dozens of educational institutions in Russian Federation and other countries.

The conference is attended by students of all educational levels, both studying to get a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.
There are 32 sections, which encompass eight more general fields: «Russian language», «Literature and folklore», «General linguistics», «Slavonic philology», «Romanic-Germanic philology», «From Classical philology to Neo-hellenistics», «Cinema|Text|Theatre», «Budetliane». Thus, almost all the most important thematic areas of modern philology are present at the conference.
An important distinguishing feature of the conference is that the active part the members of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Philology of St. Petersburg State University take in conference organization. They also work as co-moderators at most of the sections (https://vk.com/snoff.spbu).

49th International Philological Conference (IPC 2020) in Homage to Professor Ludmila Verbitskaya (1936-2019)

St. Petersburg State University invites you to participate in the 49th International Philological Conference (IPC 2020) in Homage to Professor Ludmila Verbitskaya (1936-2019), which will take place at the Faculty of Philology (St. Petersburg, Universitetskaya Emb., 11) from March 16 to March 24, 2020
The conference languages are Russian and English. 
A special topic of the 49th International Philological Conference is the academic heritage of Professor Ludmila Verbitskaya: research in the field of orthoepy, phonology and morphology of Russian and other languages, study of Russian as an official language, methods of teaching the Russian language. 
These issues will be  discussed within the framework of a particular section.   
The registration fee is 1000 rubles and includes the following: 
1) participation in the conference, 
2) information support of the conference, 
3) layout and printed version of the program, and 
4) participantʼs certificate. 
Payment of the registration fee should be made via online transfer (you will find further information thereon in our second information letter). 
Staff and postgraduate students of educational and academic institutions are invited to participate in person. There is no provision for remote participation. Each author may submit only one application (another report in which the applicant is a co-author is allowed). Applications for participation containing theses of reports, are accepted till January 282020. You may submit  your application online at  http://conference-spbu.ru/conference/42. Please note that applications sent by e-mail and applications submitted after the deadline are not accepted. For a complete list of sections and workshops  see Structure. The decision of the Program Committee to include your report in the conference program will be e-mailed to you no later than February 12, 2020.
A compendium of materials, with reports selected by Program Committee, is planned for publication as a follow-up of the conference. 
Please note that all travel expenses and accommodation fees are borne by the sending party. If you cannot  submit your abstract personally for good reason, you must inform the organizers of the conference, for the program to be adjusted. The certificate of participation in the conference is issued only if the report is included in the program and provided that the registration fee is paid in a timely manner.

Presentation requirements:
The requisition must include the following items:
1. Title of the report (entered in a separate window when submitting an application; please use neithert quotes nor uppercase);
2. Keywords (5 to 7; in the "keywords" field, separated by a semicolon);
3. Abstract (1200 to 1800 characters with spaces; must be entered in a separate window).
If the registration is successful, an automatic e-mail will arrive to confirm that the application has been accepted. Requirements for presentation of thesis:
1. The report should focus on a relevant and well-defined scientific issue. 
2. The content of the report should be fully reflected in the abstract.
3. The abstract must be written in the form of a coherent text.

47th International Philological Research Conference

St. Petersburg State University invites you to take part in the 47th International Philological Research Conference to be held March 19-28, 2018.

The International Philological Conference has been held at St. Petersburg State University annually over the period of 47 years, which makes it one of the most significant events for Russian philology.

In accordance with the established tradition, the conference unites various academic research themes, from general linguistics and literary theory to computational linguistics and testology. In 2018, there will be a full programme of parallel sessions, roundtable discussions, as well as sessions within Andreev Readings, Derzhavin Readings and French Readings.

An important principle of the conference is its openness. In 2017, almost 1000 people from more than 80 Russian and foreign universities, colleges and research organizations presented their papers at parallel and plenary sessions. Among presenters at the conference you will find researchers from various regions of Russia, countries of the former Soviet Union and other foreign countries. The conference, for instance, gives a comprehensive picture of practically all aspects of St. Petersburg philological life.

One of the traditions formed during the many years that the International Philological Conference has been held is an active participation of young researchers, both post-graduate students and candidates of science (holders of the first Doctoral degree). They account for approximately one third of all participants.

The International Philological Conference opens with several plenary sessions, which gives representatives of different research fields an opportunity to familiarise themselves with key developments in various areas of philological science.

46th International Philological Research Conference
