47th International Philological Research Conference

St. Petersburg State University invites you to take part in the 47th International Philological Research Conference to be held March 19-28, 2018.

The International Philological Conference has been held at St. Petersburg State University annually over the period of 47 years, which makes it one of the most significant events for Russian philology.

In accordance with the established tradition, the conference unites various academic research themes, from general linguistics and literary theory to computational linguistics and testology. In 2018, there will be a full programme of parallel sessions, roundtable discussions, as well as sessions within Andreev Readings, Derzhavin Readings and French Readings.

An important principle of the conference is its openness. In 2017, almost 1000 people from more than 80 Russian and foreign universities, colleges and research organizations presented their papers at parallel and plenary sessions. Among presenters at the conference you will find researchers from various regions of Russia, countries of the former Soviet Union and other foreign countries. The conference, for instance, gives a comprehensive picture of practically all aspects of St. Petersburg philological life.

One of the traditions formed during the many years that the International Philological Conference has been held is an active participation of young researchers, both post-graduate students and candidates of science (holders of the first Doctoral degree). They account for approximately one third of all participants.

The International Philological Conference opens with several plenary sessions, which gives representatives of different research fields an opportunity to familiarise themselves with key developments in various areas of philological science.
