Ethnonyms and proper names as components of the Byelorussian Proverbs presented in the dictionaries of I. Nosovich and E. Karsky and in the Byelorussian Proverbs' collection of the authors of the report mark the brightest objects of imagology in the paremiology. Using paramiographic method and their own method of sociolinguistic paremiological experiment, the authors analyze the role of the ethnonym and the proper name in shaping the non-Slavic peoples in the Byelorussian language picture of the world. The authors map the material of the old Byelorussian dictionaries and the Foundation of modern Byelorussian Proverbs with ethnonyms and proper names, represent  contextual illustrations and come to the conclusion about the shrinking of the use of Proverbs with these components in current Byelorussian discourse.
